"It was a delight to work with Grainne on The Insider by Ava McCarthy. She had a wonderful ability to narrate accurately and maintain the story throughout a long unabridged book. I will certainly be using her again." - Douglas Kean, Oakhill Publishing

"Thanks Grainne, I never expected it to sound so good. You brought it alive and made it visual" - Cathy Mansell, Author

News: I was a 2018 One Voice Award nominee for my work on 'Can You Keep a Secret?' by Karen Perry, narrated for Penguin Random House.

When I was growing up in Ireland, one of my dreams was to be a nun, only because our teacher, Sr. Geraldine had unlimited access to our class 'library'. I loved reading and it is one of life's great gifts and ironies that my career in voiceovers started, and continues, with audiobooks. I've always been told that I've a distinctive speaking voice, and I love working in a studio, creating the world of the particular book I'm working on. Authors I've narrated for include Sebastian Barry, Cathy Mansell, Claire McGowan, Emma Hannigan, Tana French, Colm Toibín, Edna O'Brien, Marian Keyes, Gemma Jackson, Kathleen McMahon, Kate Kerrigan, Patricia Scanlan, Deirdre Purcell. Studios I work regularly with include Random House, Harper Collins, Oakhill Publishing, Soundings & Isis Publishing, Heavy Entertainment, White House Sound/Clipper Audio, and RNIB. 'On Canaan's Side' which I narrated in 2011, was nominated for a Man Booker, and 'The Ballroom Café' by Ann O'Loughlin was an Irish Amazon Top 20 bestseller. I've worked with most of the big publishers in the UK and worldwide, including Oakhill, Orion, Penguin Random House, Soundings, Isis Publishing, WF Howes and Random House USA.

While audiobooks are a huge forte and love of mine, I've experience in all types of voiceover work - from formal, tri-lingual corporate voiceovers to wacky cartoon and games characters. Clients include ID Audio, RTÉ Radio, 96FM, Goldcrest Films, Estée Lauder, Brown Thomas, Arnotts, Revitive, British Metals Association, NBC and Marriott Hotels Europe and ME.  ADR work has included the 2016 Oscar-nominated film Brooklyn, now on Netflix. (I narrated the audiobook for RNIB). I've written and presented a series on women composers for RTÉ Lyric FM, which was Critics' Choice in the Irish Times for the duration of the series.

I love accents and have a great ear for them - which has come in useful more than once while doing audiobooks! Though my accent is native Irish (Cork), because I spent a great deal of time in the USA as a child, I can also do American accents to a native level also. I have a home studio with ipDTL.
